Here is a special excerpt, just for you!

I feel Colt laugh, and he looks down into my face. That’s when he seems to realize what I’ve been acutely aware of for the last several minutes—our bodies are pressed together. “It’s awesome, yeah?” he says. “Adrenaline rush.” “Yeah,” I breathe. “I guess.” I’m not sure if he’s going to kiss me until he does. His mouth covers mine, and energy mixes with the alcohol flooding my body. Our tongues slide together, and I grip his shirt so I don’t collapse.  Every single bit of this is wrong, and there’s no way I’m stopping it. It’s back, that good feeling. The sadness has been pushed out again, and in its place is this rush, this rush of adrenaline like Colt said.  He pulls back and smiles at me. “We’re going to start dating. Now. You’re my partner in crime.”

The characters feel real, the world feels authentic, and the story literally throbs with an underlying intensity that builds with each page. In short, Witchblood is an imaginative, satisfying read that still manages to leave the reader hungry for more.

THE WITCHBLOOD SERIES

When Jess steals a glance at a gorgeous guy in a Manchester nightclub, little does she realise how he is going to change her life…or should that be death? Yet, the vampire clan could never have predicted what they were taking on.

With Luke pronounced ‘off-limits’ and the blood of a vampire simmering in Jess’s body, can she forget the love of her life and move on? If not, she will risk exposing the entire Northern vampire clan to untold dangers, in order to live her life the way she wants.

Can Jess be sure that Luke is all he appears to be? Will she succumb to the attraction she desperately tries not to feel for Daniel? And why does she still crave a packet of crisps more than a tasty teenage boy’s blood?

Jess is no ordinary vampire. Protected by the Manchester vampire clan, and initiated by her family’s east coast American coven, she is sought after by every dark witch and warring vampire faction. Jess must fight if she wants to keep hold of her friends, her sanity and finally her existence.

As the dead bodies of human girls begin to stack up, and her recently accepted vampire boyfriend, Daniel, finds himself in prison, Jess goes on a crazy, forbidden trip to London, racing against time to save an old friend and solve the mystery behind Daniel’s incarceration. In battling new enemies and finding new friends, Jess’s confidence finds room to grow, but who will she lose along the way?

Hi I'm Emma. I am happily married with two lovely children. I have always loved reading and writing and published my first novel WitchBlood in Jan 2012 with Witchcraft following in June and WitchLove due in Feb 2013. After acquiring an obsessive love of supernatural teen novels...yes I'm a Twilight fan...I decided to write my own supernatural story based here in Manchester in the UK, near where I live and grew up. It's currently dark, windy, cold and very very wet... and easy to get inspiration.

Something Strange and Deadly Review

Something Strange and Deadly
By Susan Dennard

The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia…

Something Strange and Deadly (Something Strange and Deadly, #1) Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—

The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.
And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.

Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

~ MY REVIEW ~

Eleanor Fitt IS THE MOST AWESOME NAME EVER. *coughs* If you can't tell already, I really adored this book. I haven't read much in the way of zombies, as I mostly like to get my zombie fix on the TV. But, I have heard so much buzz about this book that it quickly became a must read. Something Strange and Deadly definitely does justice to the steampunk/zombie genres. I was transfixed by Susan's take on the 'Dead',  and how she mixed  everything up by throwing necromancers into the midst. This was an original and extremely entertaining story line. Eleanor's spunk and slightly misfitting personality--for the time period--was awesome! Totally what I wanted from her character. When she finally busts out of her corset and dresses and into pants and boots, I was like, "You go girl!" I loved her drive and giving heart. The Spirit Hunters keep things interesting as well, constantly saving the day with their crazy inventions. All the wacky science and inventions are what really makes a steampunk novel good for me. It gets your mind whirring with imaginative ways to solve problems. Some parts of this book made me think of what a paranormal version of Sherlock Holmes would be.
This story presented the zombies in a realistic way, without having to overdue it on the gruesome details. The creep factor is definitely there, but it is definitely befitting of the story.
If you like YA Steampunk/Paranormal reads, than I would definitely try Something Strange and Deadly out for size. Susan has created some memorable characters, and I can't wait to continue Eleanor's story in the next book!

Witchbound Book 1: Roots Cover Reveal

Witchbound Book One: Roots
By Kelbian Noel
Coming Easter 2013!

Seventeen-year-old Baltimore Land just wants to be normal,
but magic has other plans.

I don’t consider myself a witch, that's my parents' thing. I've never really believed in magic either. Sure, I tried it a few times. Fell for the whole “magic happens” thing. But it didn’t happen to me. No amount of rhyming stopped my parents from moving me halfway across the country. Not one spell stopped me from being labeled the town freak.

And worst of all, no matter how many times I begged the Universe to bring my twin back, I was ignored. Until now.

He’s back all right. And in a magical bind of his own. Not the magic-won’t-work-for-me kind either. In fact, it’s working a little too well. Too dark. Too deep.

It turns out our entire family’s magical roots run just as deep and my brother didn’t end up where he is by accident. So I’m going to help him. But magic isn’t really on my side. Nope. Once I finally get the craft under control, I’m expected to abandon the one person in the world who’s closest to me, just to save myself.

How awesome is this cover!?
I love the cold tones and mystical feel I get from it.
This series sound really great, too. Books about magic are always a win for me!
